Nahum 1 3rd October 2014 God is jealous over those he loves that is why he takes vengeance over those who hurt them. The Lord is good when trouble comes, he is the place to go and he knows everyone who trust in him. V 2, 7. Truly the Lord knows those who trust in him. Prayer: Thank you Lord for your reminder of being jealous over me because you love me, help me to trust in you more because that does not escape your attention.
Nahum 2 4th October 2014 O Nineveh once mighty Lion! You crushed your enemies to feed your children and wives and filled your city and homes with captured goods and slaves but now the Lord of Hosts has turned against you. He destroys your weapon. Your chariots stand there silent and unused. Your finest youth lies dead, never again will you bring back slaves from conquered nations; never again will you rule the earth. V 11-13. When I put my trust in my defenses, skills, abilities and possessions, God turns against me like Nineveh. I need to keep trusting God for everything. Prayer: Lord help me to keep trusting in you for everything and not in my abilities, skills or possessions.
