God is my shield; he will defend me. He saves those whose hearts and lives are true and right. V10.

Prayer : lord thank you for always being my shield all through the year. Continue to make my heart right and true to you.

Psalms 6 23rd December 2014

No lord don't punish me in the heat of your anger, pity me o lord for I am weak. V 1, 2.

Prayer: I know I can be so annoying lord with my actions and thoughts. Continue to help me live the way I should through your word.

Psalms 5 22nd December 2014

I know you get no pleasure from wickedness and cannot tolerate the slightest sin. Lord lead me as you promised me you would otherwise my enemies will conquer me. Tell me clearly what to do, which way to turn. For you bless the godly man, O Lord; you protect him with your shield of love. V 4, 8, 12.

Prayer: Lord has David prayed, I pray this morning as I look up to you, lead me as you promised me, continue to tell me what to do and I will obey as you protect me with your shield of love.

Psalms 4 21st December 2014

Stand before the Lord in awe and do not sin against him. Lie quietly upon your bed in silent meditation. Put your trust in the Lord and offer him pleasing sacrifices. V 4, 5.

Prayer: lord please continue to give me victory over temptations that I face so that I do not sin against you. Help me to continue to trust in you as I offer my self and all you have given me to serve you.

Psalms 3 20th December 2014

I cried out to the lord and he heard me from his temple in Jerusalem. For salvation comes from God.  What joys he gives to all his people. V 4, 8.

Prayer : lord thank you for always hearing me whenever I pray to you, I can point to so many evidences of your answer......Thanks also for the gift of salvation and your joy that overflows within me.

Psalms 1

But they delight in doing everything God wants them to and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely.  V2. I want earnestly to be this kind of people. I need to make it a habit to always meditate on God's word both day and night and to always figure out better ways to follow him more closely.

Prayer : lord I know I have not being doing enough when it comes to meditating on your word and thinking of better ways to walk closely with you.....I really want to improve on this,  give me the power and strength to achieve this so that I can have a more cordial relationship with you.

Trust: God's expectation

Nahum 1   3rd October 2014 God is jealous over those he loves that is why he takes vengeance over those who hurt them. The Lord is good when trouble comes, he is the place to go and he knows everyone who trust in him. V 2, 7. Truly the Lord knows those who trust in him. Prayer: Thank you Lord for your reminder of being jealous over me because you love me, help me to trust in you more because that does not escape your attention.

Nahum 2   4th October 2014 O Nineveh once mighty Lion! You crushed your enemies to feed your children and wives and filled your city and homes with captured goods and slaves but now the Lord of Hosts has turned against you. He destroys your weapon. Your chariots stand there silent and unused. Your finest youth lies dead, never again will you bring back slaves from conquered nations; never again will you rule the earth. V 11-13. When I put my trust in my defenses, skills, abilities and possessions, God turns against me like Nineveh. I need to keep trusting God for everything. Prayer: Lord help me to keep trusting in you for everything and not in my abilities, skills or possessions.

Always faithful God

Jonah 1    22nd September 2014 The men prayed to God for mercy and threw Jonah over board and the storm stopped, the men stood there in awe of God and sacrificed to Him and vowed to serve Him. V 13-`16. Even in the midst of Jonah's hide and seek with God, the sailors encountered the God of the Lands and seas, the Almighty and they committed their lives to serve Him. Prayer: Lord let my life be an embodiment of you so that even in my weakness, failures and disobedience, people will see you through me and commit their lives to serve you.

A refuge and a way of escape

Obadiah 1    21st September 2014 Edom was proud because of where they lived, they refused to help Israel in their time of need instead they exploited them to make themselves rich. But now they will experience the Lord's vengeance……..but Jerusalem will become a refuge and a way of escape and Israel will reoccupy the land for the Lord shall be King. V 3, 4, 10-14, 17-21. I need to be careful not to be like Edom. Prayer:  Lord make me a refuge and a way of escape where ever I find myself, continue to be king over my life.

MATTHEW 1 27TH NOV. 2013
Example to follow: Joseph was a man of stern principles, even though he was thinking of breaking the engagement with Mary secretly because she was pregnant, but when the angel spoke to him in a dream, he obeyed; married Mary and named the son has he was instructed. V 19 – 25
Prayer: Lord no matter what my stern principles are, help me to be able to bend them just obey your instructions.

REVELATION 22 26TH NOV. 2013
Promise: I am blessed if I keep the words of the prophecy in this book v 7.
I am blessed if I wash my robe and have a right to the tree of life and to go through the gates into the city. V 15
Example to follow: The angel who didn’t take worship from John but humbly directed worship back to God. V 9
Command: Jesus invites me and everyone else who is thirsty to come and take the free gift of the water of life. V 17
Prayer: Thank you Lord for inviting me to come and take from the free gift of the water of life, help me to continue to do what is right by keeping your word as I look forward to your coming.

The mirror - The wonderful city

REVELATION 21 25TH NOV. 2013
Promise: The dwelling of God will be with men, he will live with us and we will be His people and he will be our God. He will wipe away every tear from our eyes, there will be no more death, mourning, crying or pain. Everything would made new. V 2 – 5
Knowledge: The city was glorious made of rare gems from top to bottom. No temple was found in it because God and the Lamb are its temple. God’s glory will be its light and the Lamb its lamp. Nothing impure would be found in it but only those whose name are written in the Lamb’s book of life will be there. V 22 – 27
Prayer: Lord I can’t wait to not only see you but to live with you forever! All the world’s sorrow, suffering and pain will end, I look forward to this time! Count me worthy to live in the city.

REVELATION 20 24TH NOV. 2013
Example to follow: Those who have being beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, they had not worshipped the beast of his image nor received his mark on their foreheads or their hands, came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. V 4 – 6
Knowledge: The devil with all who followed him will join the beast and the false prophet in the lake of burning sulphur where they will be tormented forever. V 9 – 10
Everyone will be judged according to what they have done as recorded in the book. V 12, 13
Anyone whose name was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. V 14, 15
Prayer: Help me Lord never to compromise my faith for anything but to hold on to it to the end. Help me to continue to obey and please you in everything I do.

The mirror-The invitation

REVELATION 19 23RD NOV. 2013
Knowledge: salvation, glory and power belong to God. True and just are His judgment. V1, 2
The beast and the false prophet would be captured at the war and they would be thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulphur. V 19 – 20
Prayer: Thank you God for the invitation you have given me to participate in the wedding supper of the Lamb!

REVELATION 18 22ND NOV. 2013
Sin to avoid: The city drown the people away with sexual sins, even kings were not left out of this! Merchants made themselves rich from this. V 2 – 3
Command: We God’s people should come out of all this so that we would not share in her sins! V 4
Knowledge: No matter how good and appealing sinning may look now, the consequences are always very grievous, bringing about God’s wrath resulting in shame. V 6 – 20
Prayer: Lord help me to be focused on you always and not get carried away the sinful distractions that are so prevalent today! Help to not only come out but to stand for you all the days of my life.

The mirror - overcoming finally

REVELATION 17 21ST NOV. 2013
Knowledge: The inhabitant of the earth whose names have not being written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast. V 8
Promise: The 10 kings and beast will make war against the lamb but the lamb will overcome along with his chosen and faithful followers. V 14
Prayer: Thank you for writing my name in the book of life, I look forward to the victory we will have when we do battle together over the beast and the 10 kings.

The mirror - staying awake

REVELATION 16 20TH NOV. 2013
Example to avoid: Even though the people felt the effect of God’s wrath, they refused to repent and glorify God instead they cursed Him. V 8 – 11
Command to obey: Jesus would come like a thief (unannounced), so I must stay awake keeping my clothes with me so that when he comes I won’t go naked, shamefully exposed. V 15
Prayer: Lord continue to give me a heart that will always turn to you in true repentance and glorify you. Help me to always live prepared for your coming.

REVELATION 15 19TH NOV. 2013
Example to follow: Those victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name were given harps by God to sing unto him. V 2-4
Knowledge: Great and marvelous are God’s deeds, just and true are his ways. All nations will come and worship before him for his righteous acts has been revealed. V 3, 4.
Prayer: Help me Lord to be among those victorious at the end who would sing unto you with a great voice.

The mirror - my duty

REVELATION 14 18TH NOV. 2013
Knowledge: The angel flying in midair had the eternal gospel to proclaim to all those who lived on the earth. V 6
Command: I must fear God and give Him glory. V 7
Promise: Those who die in the Lord are blessed because they will rest from their labour and their deeds will follow them. V 13
Prayer: Lord help me to make it my sole duty to always fear you and bring you glory all the days of my life.

Deceit and worship

REVELATION 1317TH NOV. 2013
Example to avoid: the whole world was astonished and followed the beast, they practically worshipped him even when he blasphemed God and slandered his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. V 3, 4, 6
Knowledge: Those whose name have not being written in the book of life worshipped the beast. V 8
Command: I should be weary of those who show of miracles because it could be a form of deceit from the beast that looks like a lamb. V 11-18
Prayer: Help me never to worship anything except you Lord all the days of my life. Help me never to be distracted by the deceit of those wolves in sheep’s clothing.
